Patterned Glass Notebook & Box Design

This project reinterprets the fading craft of patterned glass through a contemporary object. Combining a glass outer box, an exposed binding notebook, and an embossed bookmark, it preserves texture, memory, and the tactile quality of traditional craftsmanship.

Close-up of the notebook's top corner, highlighting a weathered brass-toned metal spine with an embossed circular logo, set against a textured glass cover with a raindrop-like bubble pattern.

Everyday Object

(02)

A collection of handcrafted notebooks and boxes with wood-framed covers featuring textured patterned glass surfaces — including geometric mosaic, star-etched, and rippled or crackled glass designs — arranged in a moody studio still life alongside rough stone props.

Memory in Material

(01)

What we call the beginning is often the end, and to make an end is to make a beginning.

T. S. Eliot

Close-up of the notebook's back cover details under warm, raking light, showing a circular brown label reading "notebook — Blank Sketch Paper — 320 pages" alongside a stamp-shaped vignette of the patterned glass motif and a "PATTERNED GLASS" text badge, all printed in white on a warm brown ground.

A Study of Texture

(03)

Close-up of a dark textured notebook cover featuring an embossed geometric pattern of sharp, multi-pointed star motifs connected by fine diagonal lines, rendered in a metallic silver finish against a deep charcoal surface.

Surface Detail

(04)

Two gold-foil notebook spines are photographed diagonally against a muted teal-grey background, their textured metallic surfaces catching dramatic light and shadow. Each spine features a circular stamp imprint with "notebook" lettering, one inverted relative to the other, creating a mirrored composition.

Debossed Brass

(05)

Four notebooks fanned open and arranged symmetrically, showcasing covers with a dark marbled glass texture framed in gold, with one spine featuring an intricate blue geometric tile pattern, all set against a soft grey draped background.

Material Expression

(06)

A close-up of the packaging box's corner, revealing layered notebook spines with gold-accented edges stacked inside, while the box exterior displays an intricate geometric tile pattern in dark teal and black with embossed badge-style typography.

Exposed Smyth Sewn Binding

(07)

A sculptural product still life stacking the patterned-glass notebook and its box alongside raw concrete and stone props, with the diamond-tilted lid revealing a faceted mirror-glass surface and warm gold trim. Kraft-toned label stickers bearing vintage-style typography and icons are layered on the front of the box, contrasted against the cool grey tones of the patterned glass panels below.

Memory in Glass

(08)

A gold-toned notebook back cover displaying product specification badges — including "Toned Gray," "100% Recycled Paper," and "Blank Sketch Paper 320 pages" — photographed through ribbed glass that refracts the image with vertical stripe distortions and soft shadow accents.

Quiet Detail

(10)

A styled still-life arrangement of multiple notebooks and gift boxes stacked and propped at dynamic angles, featuring covers and interiors clad in gold, silver, and dark wood-toned materials with geometric tile and mosaic patterns. The composition highlights the tactile, layered surfaces and the interplay of metallic and earthy textures across the full product range.

Form and Tactility

(09)

Five small framed panels stand side by side against a softly draped grey-green backdrop, each displaying a distinct patterned glass texture — from floral and star motifs to vertical ribbing, a grid mosaic, and shattered fragments — all set in warm gold-toned wooden frames.

Surface and Light

(11)

Two embossed kraft-paper bookmarks featuring patterned glass-inspired geometric textures — floral lattice, star motifs, and irregular stone — are arranged diagonally against a moody sky backdrop, with "Bookmark" printed in a handwritten script alongside a small book icon.

Patterned Glass Notebook
